WWE BattleGround Results

Hey everyone! I don’t usually post results, but I figured I was up late tonight so what the hell, I’ll take a minute or two to post them.

I am gonna say one thing though before I get started. There was a Tweet making the rounds that was supposedly from some employee of the location that BattleGround was emanating from. They went on to describe a set featuring Superstar flags and a small hill with a WWE Flag on it. It made me think of a time when WWE would make each pay per view set unique. You would look forward to the show just for the set – like it was a character in itself. It’d also be cool to see them done as video game entrance stages. Anyhoo, that ended up being fake, which was really disappointing for me. I miss those days – now all the shows look the same and we just get unique sets at ‘Mania.

Well, here are your results.

Sasha Banks & Bayley def. Charlotte & Dana Brooke (Bayley’s WWE Main Roster debut – JBL mentions that it’s a one night thing) – Pretty sweet match that he crowd was very into. Started off the show white hot and set the stage for the evening. I enjoyed the fast pace that the ladies were keeping.
The Wyatt Family def. The New Day – Cool match that included a nasty fall to the outside by Big E. I hope he’s not too banged up. We got to see Xavier Woods and Bray Wyatt go head to head after Xavier nearly fell to Bray’s charm – at one point he started to take a knee.
Rusev def. Zack Ryder – Lana was dressed like a princess or something. Rusev looked jacked. I need to get on that diet and workout regime.
Sami Zayn def. Kevin Owens (Match of the night) – Damn I loved this match. Yeah, it was a spotfest but holy crap it was an entertaining one. Not sure if Sami Zayn got legit injured (maybe a stinger) or if he was just workin’ us. I’m hoping he was just workin’ because the hurt arm definitely helped tell a story during the downbeats of the match.
Natalya def. Becky Lynch – Looked really slow paced after that SZ KO match. Glad Nattie got a PPV win though.
The Miz vs. Darren Young – No Contest – Maryse and Bob Backlund help this one go to the No Contest and keep the feud going. I didn’t get to see the whole match  -Miz and Maryse came out wearing masks, Maryse was in a bathing suit and Bob Backlund ended up shirtless under his suspenders.
John Cena, Enzo & Cass def. The Club – Enzo was entertaining in his promo before the match, as usual. Said AJ had a soccermom haircut  and looked like Ellen. The match itself was fast paced and high impact – which seemed to the the theme of the night. Ended with a Super Cena Attitude Adjustment off the second rope to AJ Styles.
Randy Orton takes a shot at Brock Lesnar after saying he’d take him to Viperville.”No Enhancement Needed.”
Dean Ambrose def. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins – Unfortunately, I didn’t get to catch the whole thing, but I liked what I saw. Roman was booed to hell and back by the fans, and Rollins was as obnoxious as ever (which is, as always, very entertaining). At one point Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins powerbombed Roman through an announcer’s table – much to the delight of the crowd. Roman came back to Spear and Superman Punch Rollins, but then fell for the 3 count after a Dirty Deeds DDT from Dean Ambrose. The SmackDown Live roster celebrates the win with Dean.
