Say Goodbye to the WWE Divas Butterfly Belt

Well, it looks like we can finally say goodbye to the WWE Divas Butterfly Belt. That’s right, according to a report at SEscoops.com, the WWE Divas Championship is getting rebranded as the WWE Women’s Championship.

The New WWE Women’s Championship belt is said to look like the current WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt, but smaller and mounted on white leather; much like the Intercontinental Championship. According to the report, the belt commission has been completed and will debut on the Monday Night Raw following WrestleMania 32.

Charlotte will be defending the Divas Championship against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch this Sunday at WrestleMania in a Triple Threat match. Sunday night will reveal the final Divas to hold the Divas Championship Title Belt.

I for one am glad that Women’s Wrestlers in WWE will have the Women’s Championship back. With the whole Divas Revolution going on – a move focusing on making women’s wrestling great again – now is the perfect time to bring back a title held by greats from The Fabulous Moolah to Trish Stratus & Lita.

The Divas Championship was debuted in 2008 and was first held by Michelle McCool. It was also associated with being a “glamour” championship.
